Jenn and her husband Matt got married on Cinco de Mayo in a beautiful church ceremony followed by a gorgeous country club reception full of gold sparkle and dusky pink roses. We caught up with Jenn to hear all about planning for her big day.
How did you and your husband meet?
“So, Matt and I have a LOT of mutual friends and had actually crossed paths multiple times without knowing it over the years, most likely because he was previously married so neither of us really took notice in the other. After his divorce, he started coming around a lot more and we eventually developed a flirtation. The funny thing was that our group of friends were actively trying to find somebody to fix each of us up with and when they found out we had been seeing one another there was a collective ‘why didn’t we think of that!’”
What was your favorite part of the wedding planning process?
“Being done! All joking aside, wedding planning is stressful, especially when trying to keep within a budget with so many people involved! Seeing it all finally come together in the end and hearing so many people say it was one of the most fun and elegant parties they had ever been to made everything worthwhile!”
Why did you choose your venue?
“We got married in the church where my parents are members, which was really special for us both. We ended up having our reception at my parent’s country club, which was absolutely fabulous! The team there made the planning process so easy and helped make our large group feel intimate! We both come from big families and had a lot of non-blood family whom we could not have had out big without!”
How did you find Ivory Isle Designs?
Etsy! I actually was looking for inspiration for DIY name cards/meal stamps and came across the ones we ended up ordering and decided it was perfect, so we should probably just let the pros take care of it! From there I started shopping invitations and found almost exactly what I had been envisioning but unable to find! We got SO MANY compliments on them and I could not have loved them anymore!
How was your experience working with us?
“Fabulous! I know I was not an easy client in the beginning, but your patience and reassurance made the process easy!”
